I meditate to come back home to myself.
It is the most natural thing in the world to do.
There is nothing mystical about it.
I’m just sitting for a time
breathing, watching my breath,
listening, paying attention,
feeling sensations in my body,
making space for the thoughts,
the sensations, all of it.
It is not something I make myself do–
it is something I want to do.
I enjoy the stillness,
the feeling of calm, relaxed alertness.
It’s not a big deal,
but it’s also an essential part of my daily life,
like brushing my teeth or eating breakfast.
It is the most simple homecoming.
Sometimes the most simple things
are the most precious.

Thanks partly to your encouragement, it’s becoming the same in my life now too. One hundred consecutive days so far and wonderful.
Wow, that’s super awesome. Good for you mama.
