Choose Empowerment

It’s a constant struggle between my past and my future.
The past is familiar; it leaps up into my consciousness
and makes itself seen and felt again and again and again.
The future is unknown; it’s the stuff hoped for
and requires faith and focus to keep my vision clear.
I pray for the stamina to keep reinvesting my energy in my future,
to draw my attention back to the good things to come.
I pray for the time when his choices aren’t ricocheting in my mind
they way they’ve done for over a yearβ€”
and it’s been quite an interesting year.
Each day, I discover, I make a choice.
I can choose victimhood or empowerment;
but it’s always my choice.
May I always choose empowerment.

  1. Choose empowerment! I have been in your shoes. Let your beauty of heart rule your world. Hold your head high! Everytime the past rears its hurtful face, it is to remind you of where you are going, and where not go again. Turn every tear into tears of love, joy, and strength to be amazing to yourself, your babies, and the world! One step at a time. You are beautiful! Your blog is filled with life lived! Bless your heart! I so understand your truth and words. Lighten the load? Carry only your baggage. One day…the past will roll out the red carpet of your life successes! Love.πŸŒΈπŸŒΌβ˜€οΈ

    • Thank you so much, friend, for the words of kindness and encouragement. I treasure them. Sounds like you have had quite a journey as well. I bow to you. β€οΈπŸŒˆβœ¨πŸ™πŸ»

      • You are so very welcome! My journey took me where I needed to be… to become the woman I am today. Beauty is a Wonderful place to know! Take good good care of You…no matter what life may hand you. Surround yourself with all that matters! …Your child(ren) are always watching. I’m wishing you all the love, and strength you need! You are my friend in the world!☺️ Never forget to go to your most special place, even it is simply in your heart!β€οΈβ˜€οΈ

      • Thank you for the encouraging and inspiring words. I really appreciate you’re taking the time (again!) to kindly let me know that you care. It means a lot. And I wish you the best on your life path. Maybe our paths will converge some day! βœ¨β€οΈπŸ™πŸ»πŸŒˆ

      • You’re so welcome! Trying times being a single mom! I’m breathing for you! You will remain awesome in your own right! I relate to your writing. One day we may meet! In the mean time keep strong and practice ‘biting your lip’. πŸ™‚
Love and comfort on your life journey too! You are special. Remember that!πŸ™ŒπŸŒΈπŸŒΌ

      • Thanks again. So much kindness and encouragement. I really appreciate it. Also, sound advice, to bite one’s lip. Yes. I need to practice that for sure! ✨❀️🌈

      • You’re delightful. And very smart. Your writing is touching, and bare truth. My youngest son continuously tested my patience, but I kept my lip zipped! Now, we conversate very well and lovingly. I do hope we meet one day, would share lessons of Motherhood. For now, be safe in the world. And take good care of you!πŸ™‚β˜€οΈ

      • Thank you, Mama! πŸ™πŸ» Are you a single mom too, or were you for a time? And I hear you about your patience being tested. I think that might be the main point of parenthood, so that we can learn patience. βœ¨πŸŒˆβ€οΈπŸ™πŸ»

      • Hi dear one! I was a single mom. Whew! I love your writing. Reading your words allows me to reflect on a period of my life in which I thought I would not make it through to a place within my self that where I could rest, or simply be me again. (Not to sound selfish) just stating that I wanted to grow outside of Motherhood.☺️Of course Motherhood does not have an ending…simply a new chapter. You are a doll! Give your beautiful to your babes! They will be better people in the world for it. And you in the long well!🌻☺️Smile bright Mama…it only gets better! Love & Hugs for support!β™₯️
