Radiating Harmony

Standard

I’ve been practicing this Wim Hof breathing video
every day for almost a week…
It’s eaten into my music time on my cushion,
but now I’m breathing more consciously—
and maybe when my breath is strong enough,
I will breathe consciously as I play my music.
I have been preparing for this moment for so long:
Where I feel totally free and at ease,
allowing myself to create authentically
from my deepest center,
letting the love of life, of presence
flow from me, radiating harmony into the world.

Just Breathe

Standard

Just breathe.
Just relax.
Look around you.
This moment.
Don’t try to figure it all out.
The moment is always changing,
and the understanding you have now
is different from the one you will have tomorrow.
It is enough to just be who you are.
It is enough to just breathe.
This moment.
Look around you.
Just relax.
Just breathe.

Breath of the Cosmos

Standard

I keep reminding myself to breathe

a little more deeply

to soften my belly

and open my heart

and trust in this moment

My mind wants to learn a new way

where relaxation is the norm.

My body remembers some ancient trauma

that my grandmother’s grandmother’s grandmother remembered

and it needs to be convinced

that it’s safe to relax.

This opening into being has no beginning and no end, only limitless bliss for those

brave enough to walk the path.

May I be blessed with courage to allow Spirit

to express its fullness through me,

serving love in open hearted devotion,

relaxed into the deepest breath of the cosmos.

Have You Remembered?

Standard

Read, listen, breathe, enjoy…but not necessarily in that order…

When you woke up this morning,
did you remember who you really are?
Have you remembered yet today?
If not, let me remind you,
but first,
S L O W L Y
EXHALE ALL THE WAY,
and then,
S L O W L Y
INHALE ALL THE WAY.
There now, that’s better, isn’t it?
✨❤️✨
You are pure consciousness in a physical body
standing on a tiny blue dot
in the middle of infinite space.
You are a single cell on that blue dot,
a subatomic particle of the atom in which you live,
and yet your consciousness
is bigger than the universe.
Can you open in awareness of this vastness?
Can you feel out to the farthest reaches of space,
can you sense into the urge to expand forever?
Can you take on the awareness of a star,
burning in your desire to express your light?
Can you spin the way a planet spins,
can you feel its mass,
and can you sense the momentum it has attained
in its embrace of the cosmic dance?
And YOU, how about your embrace?
You are the center of the universe, did you know that?
You are, in this very second,
entirely surrounded, held, seen, known, loved and cherished
by the force that created you
(and you can call it what you want!)
You are sovereign in your center,
holding the consciousness of the cosmos.
Now that you’ve remembered
that the entire universe is yours to command,
what now will you do?

I Love Myself: A Mantra

Standard

I love myself
I love myself
I love myself

Try repeating this mantra
while you breathe
deeply and slowly

Try standing in your strength,
rooting down,
stretching up,
breathing,
repeating

I love myself
I love myself
I love myself

What will happen
in the space of
inspiration,
when love is what is
felt on the inside?

What will happen
in the release of
exhalation,
when love is what is
expressed outwardly
as truth?

What if you knew your truth
would help others?
Would you speak it?

I love myself
I love myself
I love myself.

What would it feel like
if you really believed it?
What would it sound like
if you could really mean it?

What would your life be like
if you allowed yourself to really dream it?

Inspired by Kamal Ravikant’s book “Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It.” I find the cover art pretty triggering, let me say…but don’t we sometimes need strong images to wake us up to the truth? Self-love saves lives. I found it well worth the read. I will read it again. I have been practicing the mantra for months, and began teaching it to my students this past month. It’s powerful to work with the mind in this way, to train it to reach for a better thought. The best thought…the one that could save your life, and the lives of those around you.
