Relaxes and Sighs

Standard

My posts have been spotty of late,
and my critical mind wants to lament
and wail about my lack of discipline.
Then the practical adult in me recounts
what I’ve been doing with my days and nights
and counters the critic with
Now just where do you think we’d find the time
to write when we’re not even getting enough time to sleep?

The critic then makes it a bad thing
to change my routine, to have a different schedule.
It’s addicted to feelings of shame, anxiety, and unworthiness.
It’s saying I need to go back to the way things were.
But things aren’t the way they were.
Not even a little.
Things have changed.
I am glad about that.
I am a part of all things,
even though my ego would tell me I am separate.
I have changed too.
I am glad about that.
I don’t need to feel guilty for changing,
for adopting a different routine,
for using my time in different ways.
Therefore, I am glad to write when I can,
and not a minute before.
(Takes a deep breath and lies down on the floor,
looks out the window at a puffy, white cloud floating
in the blue sky, relaxes and sighs.)

It Occurred to Me

Standard

It occurred to me
that I was fixating
on what could go wrong
instead of dreaming about
what could go right.
I had been taught to do this,
programmed by those
who had been programmed
by the ones before them,
and on and on and on going
back to my very first ancestors
who were worried about surviving.
It occurred to me
that I didn’t have to live this way any more.
It occurred to me
that I could envision my future
and summon good thoughts and ideas
about the possibilities that lie before me…
It occurred to me
that this way of thinking
was at least equally as valid
as the doomsday thinking I had been taught.
It occurred to me
that I have a choice.
It occurred to me to make the choice
to feel good inside myself
no matter what the external conditions of my life.
It occurred to me that happiness is within.
Love is within.
Abundance is within.
Health is within.
Connection is within.
Spirit is within.
It occurred to me that I am free.
I’m so grateful for all of these occurrences.

See What Happens

Standard

What if, instead of asking
What could go wrong?
You could train yourself
to proclaim
The outcome of this situation
is going to be even better
than I could have ever possibly imagined
?
How, then, would you live?
How would you perceive
the challenges of your life?
Why not try this as an experiment?
For the next week,
every time something happens,
just proclaim
The outcome of this situation
is going to be even better
than I could have ever possibly imagined

and see what happens!

Spirit Pouring Through Us

Standard

The shift happens within.
The thoughts, the beliefs,
the words we tell ourselves
align with who we are.
We believe in the possibility
that our dreams exist now.
We access the power
that bridges the Quantum Field
with 3-D reality.
We breathe, relax, and enjoy
spirit pouring through us.
